A plain-language guide to what Pose AI processes on-device, what leaves your iPhone, where photos are saved, and the controls you have.

Your live camera stays on your iPhone

Pose AI analyzes live camera frames on-device to compare your pose, framing, face direction, expression, hands, and lighting with the guide you selected. The current app does not send live camera frames, face-scan images, captured photos, or frame-by-frame pose readings to our servers.

On-device analysis can be imperfect and changes with lighting, angle, clothing, occlusion, and device hardware. It is used for creative photo guidance, not identity, medical, safety, or other high-risk decisions.

What is stored on your device

  • A derived face-scan report can include face proportions and shape, symmetry, preferred side, hair-color category, skin-tone category and color values, skin-evenness category, scan date, and sample count. Face images and pixels are not retained with that report.
  • Onboarding answers can include selected gender category, preferred side, capture style, look preference, camera-permission state, and completion status.
  • Camera, guide, difficulty, timer, series, mirroring, exposure, and capture preferences.
  • A small thumbnail of the most recent photo successfully saved by the app.

Where captured photos go

If you grant add-only Photos permission, a captured full-resolution image is written directly to your Apple Photos library. Pose AI does not need read access to your library to do this.

Photos in your library remain under your control and are not removed when you sign out, delete yourPose AI account, or uninstall the app. The current review image is held temporarily, and the app-local recent thumbnail remains until local app data is cleared or replaced.

What leaves your device

Account and sign-in requests send the information needed to create and secure your account, such as your email address, name or profile image when supplied, provider identifier, session credentials, IP address, user agent, and verification records.

RevenueCat receives a customer identifier and subscription-related data needed to display products, process or restore purchases, and determine paid access. When you are signed in, that identifier is tied to your account and your email address, display name, and backend environment are sent with it; when you use the app without an account, the identifier is anonymous. Apple processes App Store payments; we do not receive your full payment-card details.

Transactional emails are sent through Cloudflare Email Service. The API and website also generate ordinary hosting, server, security, and diagnostic logs. The current app does not upload your local face report, onboarding preferences, camera settings, or captured photos with these requests.

Providers involved

  • Apple and Google for supported sign-in and platform services.
  • RevenueCat and Apple App Store for subscription products, billing state, purchases, and entitlement checks.
  • Cloudflare Email Service for account verification, one-time codes, and password-reset emails.
  • Gravatar for profile-avatar URLs associated with email addresses.
  • Hosting, PostgreSQL database, backup, logging, domain, and infrastructure providers needed to operate the API and website.

Controls you have

  • Change camera and add-only Photos access in iOS Settings.
  • Rescan to replace the derived face report.
  • Delete the app or clear its local data to remove local reports, answers, settings, and thumbnails.
  • Delete your server account from the profile screen in the app.
  • Cancel App Store subscriptions through Apple ID subscription settings.
  • Request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion where applicable by contacting support@getposeai.com.

What account deletion does

The current account-deletion flow removes linked login accounts and active sessions, revokes sign-in access, and anonymizes identifying fields in the primary user record. Limited verification records, logs, backups, and legal or security records may persist temporarily.

Account deletion does not clear data stored locally by the app, delete photos from Apple Photos, cancel an Apple subscription, or automatically erase purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat.
